The Department of Automobile and Mechanical Engineering runs two undergraduate programs, Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering and Bachelor of Automobile Engineering, the latter being the only program of its kind under the Institute of Engineering. Students work in the thermal, fluid mechanics, materials testing, machine shop, CAD/CAM and automobile workshops, and complete industry internships and a capstone project. Faculty research spans renewable energy systems, vehicle dynamics, electric mobility, manufacturing and HVAC. The department hosts the student club AMESIN and partners with workshops and manufacturers for training and consultancy.
